Drainage bottles to put drainage fluid, first of all, the drainage tube channel should be placed directly on the lesion, and should be placed in the lowest position of the lesion. The drain tube needs to be fixed with tape where it connects to the skin to avoid random displacement and prevent the drain tube from falling off. Connect the drain tube and drain bottle. Both the drain tube and the drain bottle need to be properly placed or secured. The drain bottle is marked with a scale to keep track of the amount of fluid being drained, and there is a control valve at the bottom of the bottle that can be opened to drain the fluid from the bottle. Removal of the drain is determined by the nature of the fluid being drained. If there is little or no fluid draining, the drain can be removed 24 to 48 hours after placement. Drainage fluid usually requires daily counting of the amount of drainage, and it is not recommended that unauthorized handling of the drainage fluid be advised to the healthcare provider when releasing the amount.
