Abdominal ultrasound mainly examines the parts of the liver, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas, and can see liver occupying lesions (cysts, abscesses, hemangiomas, tumors, etc.), gallbladder diseases (stones, polyps, tumors, etc.), as well as pancreatitis, pancreatic occupations, splenomegaly, etc. Patients are generally required to abstain from eating and drinking for 8 hours before the abdominal ultrasound examination, in order to prevent more food left in the stomach, or some of the food may produce gas, resulting in more gas in the abdominal cavity, which may have an impact on the image acquisition of other organs in the abdominal cavity during the examination. Patients requiring abdominal ultrasound should follow the physician’s instructions to complete the preparations.
