The role and contraindications of iodophor

Iodophor has a strong bactericidal effect and belongs to the low-toxicity class of disinfectants. It is not as difficult to clean after using purple potion and iodine coloring, nor does it have the sting of using iodine to disinfect wounds; it can be used for disinfection and sterilization of general wounds, washing and disinfection, as well as for disinfection of household items, children’s toys, and disinfection and preservation of fresh fruits and vegetables. Then its contraindications should be noted: normal use is no serious harm, but too much use of iodophor may cause iodine burns due to high iodine concentration, causing secondary damage to the wound, so you should dilute iodophor before use and then wipe to disinfect the wound, so you don’t have to worry about it. In addition, iodophor has a corrosive effect on metal containers, so avoid using metal containers to hold iodophor.
