The anal discharge will not always be there after the stoma, this is normal. It will completely recover and disappear in about half a year. The secretion from anus after stoma surgery may be intestinal secretion, inflammatory exudate, necrotic tissue after tumor recurrence.
1. Intestinal secretion: the closed intestinal tract will increase the secretion due to edema or congestion, etc. Generally, the smear bacterial examination is negative. This kind of secretion belongs to the normal reaction after surgery. Generally, no special treatment is needed, and the secretion will disappear slowly after the edema passes.
2. Inflammatory exudate: Early secretion exudation of stoma surgery is accompanied by pain, fever, cloudy secretion and other symptoms, and the laboratory test is positive for white blood cells, red blood cells, pus cells and bacterial culture.
3. Necrotic tissue after tumor recurrence: the recurrence of tumor in the closed mouth leads to increased secretion, which is mostly mucus-pus-blood secretion and accompanied by pain, lethargy, anemia and other symptoms. The diagnosis is made by colonoscopy. Surgery or radiotherapy or chemotherapy is needed.
If the discharge from the anus after stoma surgery is uncomfortable, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a clear diagnosis and timely treatment.
