Treatment of lower limb edema should be based on diagnosis and treatment. For Spleen-Yang deficiency (insufficient Yang in the spleen), use Spleen-Solid Drink; for Kidney-Yang weakening, use Zhenwu Tang; for stasis and water stagnation, use Taohong Siwu Tang combined with Wuling San. 1. Evidence of Spleen-Yang deficiency: prolonged swelling of the body, mainly edema below the waist, depression when pressed, abdominal distension, loose stools (thin and unshaped feces), yellowish coloring of the face, and scanty urination. Add subtractions with Solid Spleen Drink. 2. Kidney-Yang Weakening and Weakness Certificate: repeated edema, swelling of the face and body, mainly edema under the waist, depression when pressed, scanty urine, cold and soreness of the waist, fear of cold, etc. Use Zhenwu Tang to add and subtract. 3. Stagnant water and stagnant water: edema that does not go away for a long time, swelling of varying degrees of severity, swelling of the limbs or the whole body, mainly of the lower limbs, or ecchymosis of the skin, etc., can be used with Taohong Siwu Tang combined with Wuling San. When edema occurs, one should consult a doctor as soon as possible, and should not use medication on one’s own to avoid delaying the condition.
