In acupuncture there is no such point as Taixu point, there is Taixi point. Taixi point is in the ankle area, in the depression between the inner ankle and the Achilles tendon of the foot Taixi is an acupoint of the foot-shaoyin kidney meridian, and can be used to treat kidney deficiency conditions such as headache and dizziness, insomnia, forgetfulness, spermatorrhea, impotence, yin-deficiency disorders such as sore throat, toothache, tinnitus and ringing in the ears, and lung disorders such as coughing and wheezing, chest pain, lumbar and spinal pains, heel pains, and coldness of the lower limbs. Taixi point can be combined with Liejiao and Taiyuan when treating lung diseases, while Taixi, Kunlun and Shenwei are effective in treating foot swelling. Acupuncture and moxibustion can be performed on Taixi points, but the operation should be done by professionals and should not be done arbitrarily to avoid adverse consequences.
