The presence of multiple solid micronodules in both lungs, the larger of which is about 3mm in diameter, may not be serious.
The presence of nodular tissue in the lungs may be a relatively common phenomenon. When the volume of multiple solid micronodules reaches 3 mm in diameter, the patient may not have symptoms such as chest tightness, chest pain, or cough, and the localized nodules may be due to fibrosis or calcification of the lung tissues, which may not have a significant impact on the normal functioning of the lungs.
If multiple solid micronodules are found in both lungs, regular checkups are usually recommended. Some nodules may remain unchanged for a long time, while others may gradually absorb and dissipate, so there is no need to worry too much.
Multiple solid micronodules in both lungs are generally more likely to be benign, but if the nodules continue to grow, it is best to seek medical attention for a biopsy, and if necessary, surgical resection should be considered to prevent malignant changes.
