What are the complications of diabetes

What are complications of diabetes? Diabetic complications are diseases that occur as a result of diabetes. It is generally accepted that the development of diabetes complications is closely related to the hyperglycemic state of the diabetic. In other words, diabetes is the “culprit” for these complications. The complications of diabetes can be divided into two categories, acute complications and chronic complications, depending on the urgency of their onset. Acute complications include diabetic ketoacidosis, hypoglycemia, various acute infections, hyperglycemia, and hyperosmolarity syndrome. Then chronic complications include diabetes-related heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, and lower limb vascular disease, skin lesions, gastrointestinal lesions, and diabetic impotence. Although these chronic complications are related to many factors, the most critical factor is the level of blood sugar control and the duration of diabetes. If blood glucose control is poor, the risk of chronic complications increases as the duration of the disease increases. If the blood sugar control is good, then even if the disease is longer, chronic complications may not necessarily occur. Therefore, once you have diabetes, you must treat it seriously, from diet control, food therapy, scientific exercise, relaxation, regular rest, these to improve his habits, with some drug therapy and other aspects to control blood sugar to the normal range as soon as possible, so that you can avoid complications.
