“Pimples” usually refers to acne, and staying up late to cause acne may be associated with increased sebum secretion, hyperkeratosis of keratinocytes around the sebaceous glands of hair follicles, and Propionibacterium acnes infection.
1: Increased sebum secretion: when staying up late can lead to endocrine disorders and a relative increase in androgen levels, androgens can promote the development and secretion of sebaceous glands, resulting in increased sebum secretion.
2. Hyperkeratosis of keratinocytes around the sebaceous glands of hair follicles: Hyperkeratosis of keratinocytes at the openings of the sebaceous glands of hair follicles narrows the duct openings, or even clogs them, so that sebum and its shed cells cannot be discharged in a timely manner, leading to the development of acne.
3. Propionibacterium acnes infection: Abnormal secretion of sebaceous glands will cause the anaerobic, oleophilic Propionibacterium acnes to proliferate rapidly, and when it reaches a certain number, it will cause inflammation of the local follicular sebaceous glands and their surrounding tissues, resulting in the formation of inflammatory pimples, nodules, cysts, and so on in the local area.
It is recommended that acne sufferers who stay up late should go to a regular hospital and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor, and avoid staying up late in their daily lives.
