The bone below the knee is the tibial tuberosity, which is prominently located and easily palpable on the body surface. Adolescent patients are prone to tibial tuberosity epiphysitis, which is mainly related to sports injuries. Repeated pulling of the patellar ligament on the tibial tuberosity epiphysis may cause epiphyseal injury and inflammation, manifesting as local pain, swelling, limited knee movement, and inability to continue sports, with symptoms gradually relieved by rest and physical therapy. In adult patients, this is the stopping point of the patellar ligament, which can cause avulsion fracture and knee dysfunction, resulting in local swelling, pain and other clinical symptoms. In this case, surgery is required to restore the patellar ligament stop before the symptoms can disappear completely. Therefore, the tibial tuberosity should be protected from injury in ordinary life.
