Does bilirubin 27 require treatment?

Whether or not bilirubin 27μmol/L needs treatment depends on the cause of the disease, if it is physiological factors do not need to do treatment; if it is pathological factors (viral hepatitis, liver and bile duct stones, cirrhosis, etc.) need treatment. 1. Physiological factors: For example, transient bilirubin 27μmol/L caused by long-term alcohol consumption, staying up late, or doing strenuous exercise usually does not require treatment, and can be gradually normalized by maintaining sufficient sleep, abstaining from alcohol, and resting more. 2. Pathologic factors: Bilirubin 27μmol/L needs to be treated according to the cause. (1) Viral hepatitis: for example, viral hepatitis B, generally can be given entecavir, lamivudine and other drugs to promote liver function to normal. (2) Hepatobiliary stones: causing high bilirubin due to biliary obstruction, choledochotomy and bile duct anastomosis can be considered for treatment. (3) Cirrhosis: Usually glucuronolactone, vitamin C, glutathione and other drugs can be given. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time, identify the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
