What to do if you have a high fever after an interventional lung puncture

Interventional lung puncture is performed for pathologic biopsy and is an invasive test. High fever after puncture can be treated with antipyretics or with antibacterial drugs. 1. Antipyretic treatment: If high fever occurs after the puncture, the patient can drink more hot water to help reduce the fever. If the fever does not go down repeatedly, the patient can use antipyretic treatment such as ibuprofen tablets or acetaminophen tablets. Usually should pay attention to drink more water. 2. Antimicrobial drug treatment: If the patient’s lung puncture is not sterilized properly, or the puncture site is contaminated by microorganisms after the puncture, it will easily lead to infection and high fever. The patient should go to the hospital to confirm the microorganisms causing the infection, and then follow the doctor’s instructions to choose levofloxacin, moxifloxacin hydrochloride and other antibacterial and anti-inflammatory treatment, and at the same time, use physical cooling to assist in reducing the fever. Patients with high fever after lung puncture must be promptly examined to confirm the cause of high fever, and standardized treatment under the diagnosis of the doctor.
