When a child accidentally gets a fish spike stuck in his or her throat while eating, the child may choke and cough. If the fish spike is relatively shallow and visible, you can use small tweezers to gently clip it out. If the fish spike is not visible or is deep, the child should not be allowed to eat or drink any more, nor should the child be stimulated to vomit in the throat. Instead, you should take the child to the ENT department of the hospital for specialist treatment.
