Drugs for variant asthma

Clinically used in the treatment of variant asthma drugs are adrenal glucocorticosteroids, β2 agonists, leukotriene receptor antagonists, stabilization of lysosomal membranes of the drugs and antihistamines 5 categories, the specific use of drugs need to follow the doctor’s instructions.
Variant asthma is one of the more common forms of asthma, and its treatment principle is the same as that of bronchial asthma.
1. Adrenal glucocorticosteroids: inhaled glucocorticosteroids such as budesonide are generally preferred, and in severe cases, oral or intravenous drugs such as methylprednisolone can also be used, which has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, and can effectively alleviate the symptoms of asthma.
2. β2 agonists: Long-acting formoterol and salmeterol, short-acting salbutamol, terbutaline and fenoterol, which have the effect of rapidly relaxing the airways.
3. Leukotriene receptor antagonists: such as montelukast and zalustat, which can reduce asthma symptoms, improve lung function, and reduce asthma deterioration.
4. Drugs that stabilize cellular lysosomal membranes: such as sodium cromoglycate and sodium nidulinate, which have the effect of inhibiting IgE-mediated release of mediators from mast cells, thus relieving asthma symptoms.
5. Antihistamines: such as ketotifen, astemizole and trinitrotol, which have anti-allergic effects, can be used in the treatment of asthma patients with allergic rhinitis.
In addition, there are new studies confirming that anti-IgE monoclonal antibodies can also be used in the treatment of allergic asthma, but the price is relatively expensive.
Patients with allergic asthma, should actively standardize the treatment, under the guidance of the doctor to use medication, not blindly use on their own.
