Breast cancer is the number one malignancy threatening women’s health, with 169,000 patients diagnosed with breast cancer in China each year. Among them, 20-30% have HER2-positive breast cancer (the disease progresses faster and is more likely to recur and metastasize than other types of breast cancer). The survey covered 370 breast cancer patients in six cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang and Jinan. The survey found that only 14% of HER2-positive breast cancer patients could correctly recognize the significance and function of HER2 testing, resulting in some patients delaying the optimal timing of testing and treatment from time to time.
