What causes anal neuralgia

Anal neuralgia, also known as anorectal neurosis, is a hysterical manifestation of anorectal sensory abnormalities, which is a non-organic, idiopathic pain that occurs in the anal and rectal areas. The main symptoms are pain, burning, swelling, perianal radiating pain, frequent bowel movements, a feeling of obstruction and peristaltic sensation in the anus, and in severe cases, unbearable anal pain. The symptoms are mostly paroxysmal, with good and bad times, and are usually seen in people who are usually nervous, suspicious, moody, impatient or introverted. The most important feature of these patients is that although the symptoms are very obvious, the clinical examination of anorectum, such as finger examination, endoscopy, electronic colonoscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI and other series of laboratory tests do not reveal the existence of organic lesions.
