Is it normal for babies to have lymph nodes on their necks?

It is normal to have lymph nodes on the baby’s neck. Because lymph nodes are an organ and tissue of the human body, they are not felt under normal circumstances. If lymph nodes are felt in the child’s neck with tenderness, this condition may be related to upper respiratory tract infection, tonsillitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, which is a reactive enlargement of lymph nodes caused by inflammation and infection of surrounding tissues. If it is accompanied by fever, abdominal pain and other symptoms, we recommend routine blood tests and ultrasound examination of the neck. If the white blood cells are high, we recommend intravenous fluids or oral antibiotics for anti-inflammatory treatment. If the lymph nodes are usually felt and there are no enlarged lymph nodes in other places such as armpits or thigh roots, simple enlarged lymph nodes in the neck with no other symptoms and no tenderness can be left untreated; if there is an acute infection, that is, if there is fever and pain to touch, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination.
