Gastric perforation may be caused by gastric ulcer, gastric cancer, trauma, local ischemia of the stomach, medical origin and other factors.
1. Gastric ulcer is a common cause of gastric perforation. If you suffer from gastric ulcer, overeating, drinking alcohol or taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or glucocorticoids, the chance of gastric perforation will increase.
2. Gastric cancer: Gastric perforation caused by gastric cancer is commonly seen in gastric perforation caused by ulcer-type gastric cancer. When the condition worsens, gastric perforation can be seen, which is usually in the advanced stage of gastric cancer and the treatment effect is poor.
3. Trauma: after a full meal, the abdomen receives a closed injury to the stomach, leading to gastric perforation; it may also be a sharp instrument injury, in which the stomach receives direct damage, leading to gastric perforation.
4. Localized gastric ischemia: necrosis occurs after gastric ischemia, which causes the entire wall layer of the stomach to break down, resulting in gastric perforation and the stomach content flowing into the abdominal cavity.
5. Gastric perforation of medical origin: invasive examinations of the digestive tract such as gastroscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) can cause damage to the gastric wall, which can lead to gastric perforation in severe cases.
Gastric perforation is an emergency and critical condition that should be treated urgently to avoid serious consequences.
