The IUD is a progestin-containing ring. Before placing the IUD, you must undergo endometrial scraping to rule out any endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial lesions in the uterine cavity. If there are no problems, the IUD can be placed 3-5 days after the next menstrual period. The IUD can be inserted using ultrasound monitoring to help the IUD to be inserted in the correct position with instructions to avoid dislodgement of the IUD. After the IUD is inserted, the IUD will need to adapt to the process and bleeding will occur for about 3-5 days, which can also cause menstrual dripping and abnormal bleeding during non-menstrual periods. In such cases, the bleeding can be stopped by oral anti-inflammatory and hemostatic medication, and also by oral short-acting contraceptive medication to regulate the cycle, as frequent bleeding can have an effect on the body.
