Are Minocycline Side Effects Serious?

Minocycline side effects such as abdominal pain, nausea, and other common symptoms are not serious, but serious symptoms such as shock and toxic epidermal necrolysis and loosening of the skin can occur. Minocycline is indicated for infections caused by staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, Neisseria gonorrhea, dysentery bacilli, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Aspergillus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Treponema pallidum, and Chlamydia, and other pathogens susceptible to the product. The most common adverse reactions observed in the study were gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, anorexia, and dizziness, which gradually disappeared after discontinuation of the drug, and the adverse reactions were relatively mild. Allergy to minocycline that is not treated in time can result in serious conditions such as shock, and there is a probability of toxic epidermal necrolysis, which can be fatal. If the adverse reactions to minocycline are not relieved, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for medical treatment.
