The effect of gastric cancer resection depends on the stage, infiltration depth and spreading range of gastric cancer, etc. Early stage gastric cancer with limited lesions and small cancerous parts can be well by surgical resection. Gastric cancer is a tumor occurring in the stomach originated from epithelial cells of gastric mucosa, and the common pathological type is adenocarcinoma. The 5-year survival rate of early gastric cancer after surgery can reach 90.9%~100%, while the 5-year survival rate of advanced gastric cancer is less than 30% due to the lack of effective treatment. Early gastric cancer can be cured by radical gastric cancer surgery with tumor resection and regional lymph node dissection; for advanced gastric cancer with metastasis or progressive stage, even with chemotherapy on the basis of surgical resection, it basically cannot be cured, but can only alleviate the discomfort to improve the quality of life and slow down the development of the disease. Gastric cancer can be cured only if it is detected, diagnosed and treated early. However, as the symptoms of gastric cancer are often hidden, it is advisable to have regular physical checkups and consult doctors in case of discomfort.
