To ensure safety, people with epilepsy should carry an “epilepsy card” with them when they go out, work or study, so that they can give first aid and contact their families in case of a sudden seizure. It is best not to travel until the seizures are under basic control. If the seizures are basically controlled, you can travel, but it is best to have a family member who understands the condition and knows how to care for the patient. Bring enough regular antiepileptic medication with you when you go out, and have some medications that can work quickly, such as phenobarbital injection and diazepam (Valium) injection, just in case. If you miss a dose of medication once in a while, you should make it up the next time you take it. Must ensure enough sleep, must not be overly tired, not too full, too hungry, too much water.
