What’s wrong with the milky discharge?

Milky discharge is usually seen in vulvovaginal pseudomelanosis and is characterized by a milky discharge with curd-like changes or tofu-like changes. The pathogen is Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an opportunistic pathogen, mainly seen in endogenous transmission. The main symptoms are itching and burning pain in the vulva and curd-like changes in the discharge. The diagnosis is mainly based on vaginal discharge examination, which reveals budding spores or pseudomycorrhizae of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Treatment is mainly local or systemic antifungal medication. Local medication includes nifurtimox vaginal soft capsules as well as miconazole nitrate and clotrimazole suppositories.
