Effective training methods for treating coughs

Training methods cannot cure cough, but effective training methods can help relieve symptoms, such as sighing, abdominal breathing, yawning, etc. Mastering effective training methods can reduce physical exertion, and at the same time alleviate secretion accumulation to a certain extent.

1. Sighing: Sighing training by quickly closing the vocal folds and the airway, so that the pressure inside the airway is higher than outside, increasing the swing of the cilia movement of the epithelial tissues, so that the secretions deep in the airway are transferred to help phlegm expulsion. When you do the training, you only need to inhale normally, and when you don’t start to exhale, quickly close the vocal folds and pause the airway, and with the airflow rushing through the airway to make the sound of clearing phlegm, and then cough out the phlegm naturally.

2. Abdominal breathing: patients half-lying knees slightly bent, keep the abdominal muscles flaccid, two hands were placed on the sternum handle, umbilicus, inhale to the abdominal bulge, hold your breath for 2 seconds and then exhale to the abdominal depression, exhale more than twice the time than inhale, take a break for every 5 times, repeat for 15 rounds.

3. Yawning style: yawning action is relatively simple training, every 5 to 10 minutes to do a yawning action, through this action continue to inhale for 5 seconds, the vocal folds tightly closed after the opening of the vocal folds, the gas rushed out of the airway, this time the cough is short and strong, no longer need to cough violently.

The training method can only be used as an auxiliary method under the premise of medication and other treatment methods, and cannot cure the disease when used alone. Patients with severe coughs are advised to seek medical attention to clarify the cause of the cough and follow the doctor’s instructions.
