TCT and HPV tests are performed by scraping the cervix for exfoliated cells. Clinically, the process of doing TCT and HPV sampling does not cause significant pain and can generally be tolerated.
TCT (cervical liquid-based cytology) and HPV (human papillomavirus) tests are routine gynecological examinations that are mainly used to screen women for cervical lesions. Before the TCT and HPV tests of the cervix are done, a vaginal dilator is used to expose the vagina and cervix. During the exposure, there may be a little soreness and discomfort, but no pain.
It is important to note that for TCT and HPV tests, you need to refrain from having intercourse, vaginal cleansing, and vaginal medication for two days. The blood vessels in the cervix may be touched during the test, causing a small amount of bleeding, which usually does not need to be treated.
Try not to have intercourse for a week after the TCT and HPV to avoid increased bleeding and infection. If there is any abnormality in the body after the TCT and HPV test, the patient should go to the hospital in time.
