What are the physicochemical properties of coronavirus

Human coronavirus is sensitive to heat, the virus is moderately stable in suitable maintenance solution at 4°C, and can be stored for several years at -60°C. However, as the temperature increases, the resistance of the virus decreases, such as HCoV-229E at 56°C for 10 minutes or 37°C for several hours can make it lose its infectivity. Human coronavirus is not resistant to acid and alkali, and the optimal pH for virus replication is 7.2. Human coronavirus is sensitive to organic solvents and disinfectants, and 75% ethanol, ether, chloroform, formaldehyde, chlorinated disinfectants, peroxyacetic acid and UV light can inactivate the virus. Chlorhexidine does not effectively inactivate the virus.
