The preparations needed for the tubal imaging test are 3 to 7 days after menstruation, injection of atropine, and emptying the bladder.
1. 3 to 7 days after menstruation: This is the best time to perform tubalography. If the uterine lining is not completely repaired or there is menstrual blood left before or after menstruation, if tubalography is performed at this time, menstrual blood can easily enter the abdominal cavity, leading to abdominal pain or even infection.
2. Injection of atropine: some patients will have tubal spasm, resulting in failure of imaging. Therefore, patients can be injected with atropine under the instruction of doctor to prevent tubal spasm.
3. Empty the bladder: It is necessary to empty the bladder before the tubal imaging test because a full bladder may squeeze the fallopian tube, which may lead to incomplete visualization.
Patients are advised to follow the doctor’s instructions before the tubal imaging test to avoid adverse consequences.
