Myopic patients in their 50’s who meet the criteria for surgery and have a strong desire for surgery may also be eligible for crystalline lens implantation, or ICL surgery.
ICL surgery is a minimally invasive procedure for patients between the ages of 18 and 50 with a stable refractive error. If a 50-year-old myopic patient meets the criteria for surgery and has a strong desire to undergo surgery, ICL surgery can be performed to improve vision by correcting myopia through IOL implantation.
ICL surgery is mainly used to correct myopia and is suitable for people with high myopia. However, if the patient has cataract, keratitis and other eye diseases, ICL surgery is not suitable.
It is recommended that myopic patients visit a regular hospital to assess their condition and choose the appropriate treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
