How long can albinos live?

Albinism does not affect life expectancy because it does not directly endanger people’s lives.

Albinism itself is an autosomal dominant disorder that is characterized by albinism-like changes throughout the body, with loss of pigmentation in the hair, pupils, and skin surface. The disease causes patients to be very sensitive to ultraviolet radiation and to be easily damaged by it, thus affecting people’s skin health. People with albinism will have a defective skin immune system and are prone to many kinds of skin cancers, and once they get a certain kind of skin cancer, they may endanger people’s life and health because of this skin cancer.

It is recommended that albinos go out and do a good job of sun protection by wearing long clothes, long pants, hats, sunglasses, masks, scarves, etc. If necessary, apply the right amount of sunscreen to the exposed parts of the skin, which can form a protective effect on the skin.
