A chicken bone stuck in the esophagus may cause significant pain especially when swallowing food. Usually there are two ways, the first way is to do a gastroscopy directly, under the gastroscope we can see if there is a chicken bone stuck in the esophagus, if found in the esophagus, the chicken bone can be removed under the special instrument for gastroscopy. There is also the possibility of taking an orthopantomogram or lateral radiograph of the chest, or CT to see if there is a chicken bone. If there is, the chicken bone can be removed under gastroscopy, or it can be removed under general anesthesia through a rigid esophagoscope.
