Do benign soft tissue tumors require surgery?

Benign soft tissue tumors without any symptoms can be treated without surgery, but if the tumor is too large and pressure symptoms appear, surgical resection is needed. Benign soft tissue tumors are characterized by slow growth, non-invasiveness, no distant metastasis, and will not affect the functional activities of normal organs, so benign soft tissue tumors with no clinical symptoms can be left untreated with regular review. If benign soft tissue tumors grow too big and press the normal tissues around, producing corresponding clinical symptoms and discomfort, they can be surgically removed under the doctor’s advice. Since some benign soft tissue tumors have the risk of recurrence, even after surgical resection, regular checkups are needed to prevent recurrence of the tumor. It is recommended that the patient should go to the hospital for examination and the doctor should make a comprehensive judgment on whether surgery is needed.
