Treatment of seborrheic hair loss and androgenetic alopecia

Seborrheic alopecia is caused by seborrheic dermatitis. For seborrheic dermatitis, glucocorticoid ointment can be applied topically in the clinic, and antibiotics can be combined with oral as well as topical application. For example, metronidazole and erythromycin are the drugs of choice, while selenium sulfide lotion can also be applied topically. Some patients with seborrheic dermatitis may also have fungal infections, so they can combine ketoconazole ointment, miconazole ointment, and terbinafine ointment for topical application. If the local exudation is very serious, you can apply boric acid solution or ezacridine lactate solution as a wet compress. For patients with androgenetic alopecia, topical application of minoxidil is recommended first. For male patients with androgenetic alopecia, oral finasteride can also be used in conjunction with the treatment. If androgenetic alopecia is not relieved by topical and oral medications, hair transplantation can also be considered.
