Is it normal for an eight-month-old baby not to roll over, not to recognize people and not to reach out?

It is not normal for an eight-month-old baby to not be able to roll over or recognize people or reach out. Normal babies will learn to roll over around 3 to 6 months and begin to enter the stage of formal recognition around 7 to 8 months, i.e. they can distinguish between familiar people and strangers. They tend to show acceptance and fondness for familiar people and may refuse hugs from strangers. Eight-month-old babies who can’t roll over and recognize people and can’t reach out are abnormal and may be caused by malnutrition, developmental delays and other conditions. It is important to go to the child health department of the hospital as soon as possible for treatment and evaluation to rule out malnutrition and developmental delay. Electroencephalogram, genetic testing, laboratory tests and other tests are also needed to rule out neurological disorders, genetic (congenital) disorders, metabolic disorders and so on. It is recommended that eight-month-old babies with abnormalities such as not being able to roll over or recognize people or reach out should seek medical examination promptly to avoid delays.
