Polycystic kidney is a congenital hereditary disease which can be examined by physical examination, ultrasound, CT and MRI. In some patients, enlarged, hard kidneys can be palpated during physical examination, and in those with many and obvious cysts, the abdomen will be uneven and nodular when palpated. Abdominal ultrasound is the preferred test for this disease, which may show a marked increase in renal volume, multiple cysts of varying sizes, and enhanced renal parenchyma echogenicity. CT and MRI examination is more clear, through MRI can check the volume of the kidney, calculate the size of the cysts and the progress of polycystic kidney disease. It is recommended to go to regular hospitals, choose the appropriate examination program according to the symptoms and conditions, and consult a doctor in time if there is any discomfort.
