Do you need to take progesterone all the time?

Whether progesterone needs to be taken all the time depends on the type of disease. In the case of shortened menstrual cycles due to luteal insufficiency or irregular vaginal bleeding in the second half of the menstrual cycle, it is recommended to take progesterone orally after ovulation for 10 consecutive days and every month for 3 consecutive menstrual cycles to basically improve the corresponding clinical symptoms. If the progesterone is used for fetus, the clinical symptoms will determine when to stop taking it. If the corresponding clinical symptoms have completely disappeared, it is recommended to consolidate the dose for another 3 days and then discontinue it. If it is used to induce menstruation most of the time it is given to stop after 3 consecutive days and menstruation will come 3-7 days after stopping the medication. Therefore, the duration of progesterone administration varies depending on the disease.
