Transverse colon polyp 1.0×1.0cm is considered relatively large and active treatment is recommended.
It is generally believed that the diameter of 1cm can be used as a demarcation line for the size of polyps. Because the size of intestinal polyps and cancer have a certain correlation, the larger the diameter of intestinal polyps, the greater the possibility of cancer, adenomatous polyps with a diameter of 1~2cm cancer rate of 10%.
If the polyp is non-adenomatous polyp, such as inflammatory polyp and hyperplastic polyp, it will not be cancerous, and regular review will be enough. If the polyp is an adenomatous polyp, the cancer rate is around 10% and increases with age, endoscopic removal is recommended. However, if the polyp is accompanied by atypical hyperplasia, the probability of cancer is even higher, so endoscopic resection is also needed, and regular checkups are required after the operation.
It is recommended to go to the hospital in time and standardize the treatment.
