TCT is a clinical test which is mainly used to remove cells from the cervix, and then smear, stain, fix and observe through microscope to find out whether there are abnormal growths or cancerous cells among the scraped cells. Its positive rate is higher than that of cervical smear. Basically, cervical smear is replaced by TCT in clinical practice. It is recommended that cervical scraping or TCT should be performed within 3-7 days after menstruation, when the cervical discharge is relatively less, so more cells can be scraped clinically.
