The prognosis of lupus nephritis type 4 is generally poor, with the possibility of serious complications, often requiring long-term dialysis to maintain life. Lupus nephritis type 4 belongs to one of the more serious pathological stages of lupus nephritis, and more than 50% of glomerular involvement can be seen under light microscope. Clinically, large amount of hematuria, proteinuria, hypertension, edema can be seen, which can easily induce serious complications, and even lead to death, or enter uremia stage, and need to receive long-term hemodialysis to maintain vital signs. Patients need active treatment, feasible hormone shock, cyclophosphamide shock, or plasma replacement, timely removal of disease-causing antibodies in the plasma, which can help inhibit the immune-inflammatory response and slow down the deterioration of renal function. The presence of lupus nephritis type 4 should be promptly consulted and actively treated under the guidance of a physician.
