There is no such thing as herbs for treating terminal cancer. Many herbs can be used for adjuvant treatment of cancer, such as half a leaf of lotus, Yam bean root, mountain mushroom, etc., which are mainly used to alleviate the clinical discomfort and do not have the function of curing cancer. It is pungent, bitter, cold in nature, and belongs to the lung, liver and kidney meridians. It has the functions of clearing heat and removing toxins (removing heat and toxins from the body), resolving blood stasis and diuretic, and can be used to treat furuncle (a sore that occurs on the limbs or the face, with a small shape and a deep root, as hard as nails), swelling and poisonous, sore throat, and bruises and injuries, and so on. Yam bean root is bitter in taste, cold in nature, poisonous, belonging to the lung and stomach meridian, with the efficacy of clearing heat and detoxification, swelling and pharyngeal benefit, suitable for the fire and toxicity caused by the milk moth (related to tonsillitis) paralysis of the larynx (pharynx red, swollen and painful, or dry, with a sense of foreign body, or pharyngeal itching discomfort and difficulty in swallowing), sore throat, gingival swelling and pain, sores in the mouth and tongue and other diseases. Cicer arietinum is sweet, slightly pungent, cool in nature, and belongs to the liver and spleen meridians. It has the efficacy of clearing away heat and removing toxins, resolving phlegm and dispersing lumps and can be used to treat carbuncle and furuncle (a kind of skin disease referring to furuncles of serious degree), scrofula (mainly referring to tuberculosis of lymph nodes of neck), phlegm and nucleus (lumps swollen up like nucleus under the skin), snake and insect bites, obstruction in the abdomen (lump in the lower part of the abdomen of women), plaques (lumps) and other diseases. Herbal medicines such as Longquan, Baihua Snake Tongue Herb and Purple Shirt can also be used in the treatment of cancer, mainly to alleviate the clinical discomfort, but do not have the effect of curing cancer. Herbal medicines must be used under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, and patients with advanced cancer should follow the doctor’s prescription for medication, and should not blindly use medicines on their own.
