When patients experience ringing in the left ear, it is most common to experience neuralgic tinnitus in the left ear. This kind of tinnitus may be transient and may recover quickly on its own, or it may persist for a long time, often due to prolonged exposure to noisy environments or excessive use of headphones. Some patients may also suffer from viral infections, repeated fatigue, late nights, lack of sleep, and excessive work and life stress, which may lead to simple tinnitus symptoms and then to sudden deafness. Some patients may also suffer from chronic suppurative otitis media, secretory otitis media, or cerumen or foreign body blockage in the ear canal, which requires further examination and differentiation.
