Glucose rehydration solution, i.e. glucose injection, has the effect and function of replenishing energy and body fluids. Some patients may have adverse reactions such as palpitations and arrhythmia after use, and it is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled diabetic ketoacidosis and those with allergies.
Glucose injection mainly has the effect of replenishing energy and body fluids, and is mainly used in hypoglycemia, hyperkalemia and other diseases, but also used in hypertonic solution as tissue dehydration and the preparation of peritoneal dialysis solution, drug diluent, and so on.
However, some patients may experience adverse reactions such as palpitations, arrhythmia, phlebitis, and reactive hypoglycemia and hyperkalemia after using glucose injection.
It should be noted that patients with uncontrolled diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperglycemic nonketotic hyperosmolar state are prohibited to use glucose injection to avoid aggravating the patient’s condition. If the patient is allergic to glucose injection, it should also not be used to prevent allergic symptoms such as generalized itching and red rash.
Glucose injection has the efficacy and function of rehydration and replenishment of energy, patients should follow the doctor’s instructions to use, should not be used on their own.
