The pulse of patients who consume Zhenwu Tang is mostly sunken and fine. Sinking veins are usually associated with internal syndromes, while fine veins are usually associated with deficiency syndromes. Sinking and fine veins indicate that the patient’s overall qi and blood are insufficiently filled, and that the body is functioning poorly, and that yang qi is deficient and weakened. Zhen Wu Tang is composed of Poria, Paeonia lactiflora, Ginger, Radix et Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, and is mainly used to treat Spleen and Kidney Yang Deficiency (deficiency of Yang energy in the Spleen and Kidneys), and Water Dampness and Overflow syndrome, with clinical symptoms such as fear of coldness, dysuria, dizziness, heavy pain in the limbs, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and so on. The tongue and pulse of patients with Zhen Wu Tang are mostly manifested as pale and fat tongue with teeth marks on the side, white and smooth moss, and dull and fine pulse. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this formula are currently unclear.
