How to check for calculus

The methods of checking dental calculus are generally visual observation, periodontal probing, X-ray examination, etc., as follows. 1. Visual observation: Larger supragingival tartar or stained tartar can be observed with the naked eye on the teeth around the gingival margin, which is often yellowish, brown or black. 2. Periodontal probing: using a special periodontal probe into the periodontal pockets, along the bottom of the periodontal pockets lifting and inserting type walking, can be detected under the gums of the calculus. 3. X-ray examination: dental calculus on the X-ray film shows irregular blocking image attached to the root surface of the tooth. If the calculus is serious, or other symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, the doctor’s help for targeted treatment.
