How long should I not eat before the sugar screening

Usually screening for diabetes is performed at 24-28 weeks of pregnancy. The day before the screening test, the diet should be light and reduce the intake of staple foods, usually fasting after 8 pm and drinking as little water as possible, and the next morning screening on an empty stomach, usually requiring a 12-hour fast. The first 2 weeks should pay attention to regulating the diet, control the intake of staple foods, for high-fat, high-sugar foods as little as possible, such as chocolate, lychee, etc.. When doing sugar screening, dissolve 50g of glucose powder into 200mL of water and drink it within 5 minutes. 1 hour later, draw blood to check blood sugar, more than 7.8mmol/L is called abnormal sugar screening, and normal eating can be resumed after the blood draw is completed. If the glucose screen is abnormal, an oral glucose tolerance test is needed to confirm the diagnosis of gestational diabetes, and prompt treatment is needed after the diagnosis.
