The process of implantation of the embryo into the endometrium after transfer is called implantation. The site of implantation is mostly in the upper posterior wall of the uterine cavity, followed by the anterior wall and occasionally the lateral wall and lower part of the uterus. Many people are very anxious about whether bleeding after IVF transfer means “game over”? The answer is, of course, no. One of the first causes of bleeding that you may be happy about is the implantation bleeding. A bleeding at implantation is when the embryo breaks open a small opening in the uterine wall and buries itself. The implantation bleeding is not like other bleeding, it is light pink or brown in color and may be streaky” in appearance. So, what about vaginal bleeding after IVF transplantation? 1. 1 to 3 days after transplantation: Vaginal bleeding at this stage is not necessary to be nervous, it may be due to cervical erosion, a small amount of bleeding after touching the cervical erosion surface during transplantation, or a small amount of bleeding after slight irritation of the cervical mucosa during transplantation. There is no need to be nervous at this point, rest for a few days and the bleeding will stop. If bleeding exceeds 1 week, please visit the clinic to rule out other problems. 2.7~14 days after transplantation: There is no need to be nervous at this stage for a small amount of vaginal bleeding, just continue the treatment with birth control medication and come to the hospital 10~14 days after transplantation for blood sampling to confirm whether you are pregnant or not. 3. 14 to 28 days after transplantation: If pregnancy is confirmed by blood HCG, vaginal bleeding at this stage must be highly alert to ectopic pregnancy, and you need to go to the hospital in time. This is because ectopic pregnancy is life-threatening in case of intra-abdominal bleeding. If the ultrasound examination indicates intrauterine pregnancy, continue the treatment of fetal preservation. 4. After the ultrasound confirms intrauterine pregnancy and fetal survival after transplantation: a small amount of vaginal bleeding occurs at this time, there is no need to be nervous. Continue the fetal preservation treatment, try to rest in bed, keep your mood calm and review the ultrasound after 1 to 2 weeks. During the early pregnancy stage, the embryo erodes the uterine blood vessels and establishes blood circulation with the mother during its development in the mother’s uterus. During this process, 30% to 50% of pregnant women may experience vaginal bleeding, and after regular fetal preservation treatment, most of them can continue their pregnancy. In conclusion, vaginal bleeding after transplantation is low and does not exceed the usual amount of menstruation, and all of them can continue the fertility preservation treatment if the diagnosis is clear and ectopic pregnancy is excluded. The vagina is a long reproductive cavity and a small amount of bleeding may remain inside and a small amount of blood or coffee-colored or light pink discharge may still be discharged in the following 3 to 7 days, there is no need to panic. As long as the vaginal bleeding does not exceed the amount of menstruation, ectopic pregnancy is ruled out, there is no abdominal pain, dizziness and weakness, and the fetus is treated under the doctor’s guidance for fetal preservation, most of the cases will be resolved and the pregnancy will continue to be healthy and enter the middle pregnancy stage.
