Genital Herpes

Recently, a number of patients have consulted genital herpes and are under great psychological stress. In order to relieve the patients’ panic and anxiety, more standardized treatment. I have summarized the frequently asked questions as follows.
  1. What does genital herpes look like?
It appears as clusters of small blisters on the skin or mucous membranes, with pain, burning or a slight itching sensation, mainly in the genital area (see picture). If it recurs, the area is basically the same each time. The first hair will be heavier, the recurrence will be lighter, and most people get lighter the more they have hair.
  2. Is genital herpes contagious?
Yes, it is. It is mainly transmitted through sexual contact, so it is a type of “sexually transmitted disease”. However, it can also be transmitted through non-sexual contact.
  3. What are the causes of genital herpes?
It is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV for short). Most of them are caused by HSV type II, but sometimes HSV I can also cause it.
4.Does herpes simplex virus infection necessarily lead to disease?
Not necessarily, some people can have no symptoms after infection.
5.What is the difference between HSVⅡIgG and HSVⅡIgM positive?
A positive HSV II IgG indicates an infection with HSV II. A positive IgM indicates a recent infection or a recent recurrence.
  6. Can genital herpes be cured?
Even if it is not treated, it will get better on its own, and usually heals itself in 7 to 10 days. Medication can reduce the symptoms and get better faster.
  7. Can genital herpes be cured?
At present, genital herpes can be controlled, but not absolutely cured. The actual fact is that you will be able to get a lot more than just a couple of days to get a lot more than just a couple of days.
  8. Is genital herpes always recurring?
The actual fact is that you will not be able to get a lot of money. Some people have been infected and never had a problem; some have had a problem and never had a recurrence; some have had recurring problems. It is impossible to predict for each person specifically. But it is true that the recurrence rate is relatively high, with more than 90% recurring.
9.How to try to prevent recurrence?
First of all, we need to understand the triggering factors, including fever, cold, exposure to the sun, local injury, emotional excitement, poor digestion, irregular life, mental stress, lack of sleep, alcohol consumption, etc. In short, the causes that cause the body’s resistance to decline may be triggered, so it is necessary to try to avoid and strengthen physical exercise.
10.Can I get pregnant if I have genital herpes?
Yes. Men are not affected. In women, there is usually no problem as long as the infection is not first contracted during pregnancy. If the infection was previously contracted and recurred during pregnancy, there is little effect on the fetus.
11.Does HSV II cause cervical cancer?
There is no evidence to confirm that HSV-II can cause cervical cancer, so there is no need to worry about this issue.
  12. What is the relationship between herpes simplex and genital herpes?
Both are caused by herpes simplex virus, which also manifests in clusters of blisters and can recur, but the sites are different. Herpes simplex mainly occurs on the face (mouth, lips, nostrils, around the eyes, etc.). It is caused by HSV I, but sometimes herpes simplex is not “simple” and can be caused by HSV II. The relative recurrence rate of herpes simplex is relatively low at 30-50%.
