Why not chemo for stage 1a endometrial cancer?

Stage 1a endometrial cancer belongs to the early stage of cancer. If detected early and treated regularly, most patients can be cleared of cancer cells in the body after radical surgical treatment, so chemotherapy is not needed. Surgery is the main treatment for endometrial cancer, which can be supplemented by comprehensive treatment such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy. Among them, chemotherapy is mainly used for stage I~II high-risk staging, stage III~IV, tumor recurrence and metastasis. If there is no age greater than 60 years old, histological grade 2 or 3, tumor invasion of deep muscle layer, lymphovascular infiltration, etc. in stage IA, it belongs to low-risk staging and chemotherapy may not be performed. In addition, if the presence of the above risk factors in stage IA is typed as high-risk, but there are coma and other consciousness disorders, poor physical condition, poor bone marrow hematopoiesis, severe anemia, liver and kidney failure, etc., chemotherapy can not be performed. However, adjuvant chemotherapy is sometimes needed if there are some high-risk factors or the local lesion tissue is relatively large. The specific treatment plan for endometrial cancer needs to be determined by specialized clinicians according to the patient’s comprehensive situation. Prompt medical consultation is recommended if the disease is suspected.
