Clinically, if there are many reasons for a bulging round stomach, first of all, we have to exclude physiological causes, like women in pregnancy, obese people and the appearance of epigastric bulging after a full meal. Secondly, we should consider whether there is gastrointestinal dysfunction, resulting in intestinal flatulence, which is not accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms than abdominal distension. If it is accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or even no bowel movement or exhaustion, consider the possibility that it is caused by intestinal obstruction. Again, it is important to consider whether there is ascites caused by cirrhosis of the liver, which causes the stomach to bulge round. Finally, it is necessary to exclude huge occupying lesions in the abdominal cavity, like those caused by malignant tumors. It is recommended to seek medical attention for a clear diagnosis and timely treatment.
