Patients with eczema who have a long and recurring course of the disease do experience gradual thickening and hardening of the local skin, and even moss-like changes, which are very common in the clinic. This is not a special treatment for this condition, usually pay attention to the moisturizing of the skin, if the skin is particularly dry, it may lead to itching episodes, which in turn induces eczema. If the eczema patient’s condition can be controlled and no longer recurring, the local hardening and thickening of the skin can slowly ease on its own over time, and some patients can slowly soften and thin the skin between about six months and a year, and even appear to be significantly reduced to the appearance of normal skin.
