Diabetes Diet Treatment

Diet therapy for diabetics is the primary means of controlling diabetes and is no less important than drug therapy. People are food-oriented, diabetic patients do not eat as little as possible, the important thing is a reasonable mix, balanced diet, not only to enjoy the pleasure of eating, to ensure adequate nutrition, but also not to increase the burden on the body, to maintain the ideal weight. Diabetic patients should not eat: cigarettes, honey, sugary yogurt, coffee, cola and other drinks, candy, meat and oil. Consume as little as possible: thin rice, walnuts, melon seeds, peanuts, chocolate. Drinking alcohol should only be ritualistic: 3 yuan of white wine, 1 tael of red wine and 1 cup of beer per week. Not the less staple food (steamed buns, rice, noodles) eat the better, you must ensure a certain amount of carbohydrate intake every day, so the total daily staple food should be about 4 taels to 6 taels. Meat should be limited, try not to eat fatty meat, can eat moderate amounts of lean meat, fish, shrimp and other high-quality animal protein and soy milk, tofu and other vegetable protein, you can eat 1 egg and drink 1 cup of milk every day. Vegetables are also not the more you eat the better, potatoes, yams, soy products, pumpkin, corn, cauliflower, etc. must be moderate. Green vegetables such as bok choy, spinach, celery and other green leafy vegetables are rich in fiber and can be eaten more appropriately, cucumbers and tomatoes are rich in water and can also be eaten more appropriately. Replacing refined staple foods with coarse grains can increase insulin sensitivity, but not reducing staple foods, or eating large amounts of coarse grains and pumpkin can also raise blood sugar because they also contain starch. If your blood sugar is not well controlled, do not eat fruit. If you have good control, you can eat kiwi, grapefruit, pomegranate, watermelon, strawberries, pears, apples and other fruits in small amounts (not more than 200 grams per day) in small portions (not all at once) daily, while reducing some of your staple foods. Diabetic patients are suitable to eat less and more meals, the amount of each of the three usual meals will be reduced by about 1/3, put into two hours after breakfast, after the noon nap, around 10 pm for small additional meals. It is also very important not to change the amount of food and meal times, and not to change the interval between glucose-lowering medication and meals at will. Diabetes is a disorder of sugar utilization that leads to high blood sugar and hunger, but more diet will only lead to a vicious cycle. So diet control to maintain a mild hunger is a must. Only with proper diet control, while interrupting the chain of diabetes leading to high blood sugar with the synergistic effect of exercise and medication, so that all organs of the body can utilize blood sugar normally, can we embark on a virtuous cycle.
